It is also prescribed for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), relieving symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent or urgent need to urinate, and weak urine flow. Another approved use is for pulmonary arterial hypertension, where it improves exercise capacity by reducing high blood pressure in the lungs. The effect lasts longer compared to similar medications, often providing relief for up to 36 hours, which allows for greater spontaneity in sexual activity. It is taken orally, usually as needed or in daily low doses depending on the condition being treated.
