Used in the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension to reduce intraocular pressure. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor from the eye, helping prevent optic nerve damage and vision loss. Often prescribed as an ophthalmic solution, it is applied daily and is effective in patients who do not respond adequately to other prostaglandin analogs. Also associated with side effects such as increased brown pigmentation of the iris and eyelash growth.
