Milrinone is often administered intravenously in hospital settings when other therapies are insufficient. It is especially useful in patients with severe symptoms and is commonly used during or after cardiac surgery to support heart function. Due to its fast onset and short duration, it allows for quick adjustments in therapy. Not intended for long-term outpatient use due to potential side effects.
