description Product Description
Used primarily as an antifungal agent, especially in the treatment of dermatophytosis—fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails. It works by disrupting fungal cell division through interference with microtubule function, thereby inhibiting mitosis. Commonly prescribed for ringworm infections (tinea species) when topical treatments are ineffective. Due to its ability to concentrate in keratin-containing tissues, it is particularly effective in treating infections of newly formed skin and nails. Not effective against Candida or bacterial infections. Often administered orally and requires prolonged treatment duration to ensure complete eradication of the fungus.
