Used in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. Also prescribed for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to reduce the risk of HIV infection in high-risk individuals. Found in medications that help lower viral load and maintain immune function in HIV-positive patients. Commonly combined with tenofovir in single-tablet regimens for both treatment and prevention.
