Used primarily as a plasticizer in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other polymers to improve flexibility, durability, and workability. Commonly found in wire and cable coatings, flooring, films, and molded plastic products where good low-temperature performance and electrical insulation are required. Also used in some adhesives, sealants, and coatings. Due to environmental and health concerns, its use has declined in consumer products and is increasingly replaced by alternative plasticizers in many applications.
