description Product Description
Clozapine is primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia, especially in patients who do not respond to standard antipsychotic medications. It is effective in reducing both positive symptoms (such as hallucinations and delusions) and negative symptoms (like social withdrawal and lack of motivation). Due to its unique mechanism of action on multiple neurotransmitter receptors, clozapine offers a valuable option for treatment-resistant cases. It is also associated with a lower risk of extrapyramidal side effects compared to typical antipsychotics. However, its use requires regular blood monitoring because of the risk of agranulocytosis. Clozapine has also been used off-label in certain cases of bipolar disorder and severe treatment-resistant depression.
