Used as a host material in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), particularly in blue phosphorescent and thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) devices. Its high triplet energy level makes it suitable for efficient energy transfer to blue emitters, helping achieve high efficiency and low efficiency roll-off. It is also valued for its good thermal stability and film-forming properties when deposited by vacuum evaporation. Commonly employed in the emissive layer of OLED displays and lighting panels.
