Used as an intermediate in organic semiconductor materials, particularly in the development of hole-transport materials for perovskite solar cells. Its aromatic structure and bromine functionalization allow for further cross-coupling reactions, enabling the synthesis of conjugated polymers or small molecules for optoelectronic devices. Also explored in the fabrication of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) due to its thermal stability and favorable charge transport properties.
