Used in the treatment of bacterial infections, particularly those caused by susceptible Gram-positive and some Gram-negative organisms. Due to its stability against certain beta-lactamases, it may be used in cases where resistance to other penicillins is observed. Administered parenterally, it achieves high serum concentrations, making it suitable for moderate to severe infections requiring hospital treatment.
