Used as a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor in the treatment of major depressive disorder. It helps improve mood, energy levels, and concentration by increasing norepinephrine levels in the brain. Also investigated for off-label use in attention-deficit disorders, fibromyalgia, and certain anxiety disorders. Its action on the noradrenergic system makes it useful in cases where fatigue and low motivation are prominent symptoms. Not typically used as a first-line antidepressant due to availability of broader-spectrum agents, but remains an option for patients who do not respond to or tolerate other treatments.
