description Product Description
Nomifensine maleate was formerly used as an antidepressant in the treatment of depressive disorders. It works by inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine in the central nervous system, increasing levels of these neurotransmitters to help alleviate symptoms of depression such as low mood, lack of energy, and anhedonia. It was noted for reducing sedation and boosting energy compared to some other antidepressants. However, due to severe side effects, including hemolytic anemia, it was withdrawn from the market in many countries in the 1980s. Currently, its use is limited to scientific research rather than clinical applications.
