Used topically to treat bacterial acne vulgaris, particularly inflammatory lesions. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, reducing the growth of Propionibacterium acnes. Commonly found in creams applied twice daily, it helps decrease redness, swelling, and pimple count. Often prescribed when other treatments are not tolerated.
