A starch-derived cosmetic ingredient with rich foaming and texture properties that protects skin and hair from damage.
Starch Care™ is a functional oligo-saccharide derived from starch, mainly composed of maltooligosyl glucoside. Maltooligosyl glucoside consists of a trehalose molecule bound to one-to-three glucose units. Starch Care™ is a non-reducing saccharide with a unique “moist but non-sticky” texture and excellent thermal and chemical stability; it does not participate in the Maillard reaction, making it suitable for a wide range of formulations.

FOAM COMPARISON
Hydrogenated starch hydrolysate (sugar alcohol)
Starch-derived carbohydrate liquid comprising maltooligosyl glucoside and hydrogenated starch hydrolysate.
Skin-cleansing agent samples with and without Starch Care™ were diluted ten-fold with distilled water, beaten in a blender for one minute, and equal foam volumes were funnelled onto mesh. Photographs show the foam three minutes after blending.
