Used as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the treatment of pain, inflammation, and fever. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, substances in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Indoprofen is particularly effective in managing symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Though it has been studied for its analgesic and antipyretic effects, its clinical use has been limited due to concerns over gastrointestinal and renal side effects. It has also served as a model compound in pharmacokinetic and metabolic studies of NSAIDs.
