Used as an antiparasitic agent in veterinary medicine to control internal and external parasites in livestock and companion animals. Effective against nematodes and arthropods, including species resistant to other anthelmintics. Commonly administered in cattle, sheep, goats, and dogs to treat infestations such as roundworms, lungworms, and mites. Also used in some formulations for the prevention of heartworm in dogs. Its long-lasting activity allows for less frequent dosing compared to other parasiticides.
