description Product Description
Fenbendazole is widely used as an anthelmintic agent in veterinary medicine to treat parasitic worm infestations in a variety of animals including cattle, sheep, goats, horses, dogs, and cats. It is effective against gastrointestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and certain types of tapeworms. The compound works by inhibiting tubulin polymerization in the parasites, disrupting their cellular structure and leading to their death.
It is commonly administered orally in the form of pastes, granules, or suspensions, often used in deworming programs for livestock and companion animals. Due to its broad-spectrum activity and safety profile, fenbendazole is a key component in routine parasite control, helping improve animal health, weight gain, and productivity in agricultural settings.
In recent years, fenbendazole has also gained attention for off-label use in humans, particularly in exploratory cancer research. Some studies suggest it may have anti-cancer properties by targeting microtubules in tumor cells and modulating cellular pathways involved in apoptosis and autophagy. However, such use remains investigational and is not approved by regulatory agencies for human cancer treatment.
