description Product Description

Used in infrared spectroscopy as a common material for sample preparation, especially in the form of pressed pellets, allowing analysis of solid samples. Widely utilized in the manufacturing of optical components due to its transparency in the infrared range.

Historically used as an anticonvulsant and sedative, previously in humans but discontinued due to side effects such as sedation and skin rashes; still employed in veterinary medicine, particularly for managing epilepsy in dogs.

Also employed in the production of silver bromide for photographic emulsions. Occasionally used in tracer studies and in some types of chemical synthesis where a source of bromide ion is required.
