a water-soluble whitening ingredient with excellent stability and high safety
AEPWhite™ : a pure Aminoethylphosphinic Acid is a water-soluble whitening ingredient with excellent stability and high safety.
When exposed to U.V. rays, human skin produces melanin, a natural pigment that acts as the first defense mechanism against these radiations and free radicals. Melanogenesis, the process of synthesizing melanin from tyrosine, is performed by specialized cells called melanocytes. With age, some melanocytes produce excessive melanin, leading to the appearance of age spots.
AEPWhite™ (solution of aminoethylphosphinic acid, ALA-P) was designed for melanin regulation.
Unlike traditional melanogenesis inhibitors (such as arbutin, kojic acid, and vitamin C), AEPWhite™ does not inhibit tyrosinase (the enzyme responsible for transforming tyrosine into DOPA and DOPAquinone). Instead, AEPWhite™ stabilizes DOPAchrome, preventing its subsequent transformation into melanin.
AEPWhite™ has been shown to significantly stabilize DOPAchrome and reduce melanin production in tanned reconstructed epidermis.
AEPWhite™ delivers a rapid reduction in melanin density, with visible skin-lightening effects. It also improves skin complexion and prevents dullness during the skin-lightening process.
Since AEPWhite™ targets a step of the melanogenesis process that occurs downstream of standard tyrosinase inhibitors, it can be used in combination with these inhibitors for a synergistic effect on melanogenesis inhibition:
The efficacy of AEPWhite™ may be further enhanced when combined with a powerful detoxifier, ALISTIN.
Better Melanin Inhibition: Irradiated melanocytes produce melanin with a peak after 48 hours. AEPWhite™ decreases melanin release by nearly 70%, outperforming standard melanogenesis inhibitors.
Enhanced Stability: Developed using pharmaceutical predictive software technologies, AEPWhite™ offers:
Improved Safety: Unlike traditional tyrosinase inhibitors, AEPWhite™ stabilizes DOPAchrome, which accounts for its good tolerance. The inhibition of tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in other biological processes, can lead to the disruption of essential biosynthesis pathways (e.g., catecholamines).
A study was conducted with 21 women aged 33 to 52 over a period of 56 days. The results demonstrated significant improvements in skin lightening when using AEPWhite™.
AEPWhite™ does not exhibit any toxicity and is well-tolerated according to tolerance studies. It can be used in concentrations ranging from 0.5% to 1.5%, and lower concentrations may be sufficient when combined with tyrosinase inhibitors.
Usage: For whitening products to brighten the skin.
Mixing method: Mix in water part, avoid heat above 60C
